Guide · TelephonyHow much does a phone system cost for a business in Morocco?
Before talking figures, two very different approaches have to be told apart — and the costs do not sit in the same places.

Two models, two cost logics
The traditional switchboard (PBX): a physical unit installed in your premises. The cloud phone system: an online service billed by subscription, with no hardware. That distinction changes everything, because the costs do not sit in the same places.
The traditional PBX: watch the hidden costs
A PBX means a significant upfront investment and recurring costs that are often underestimated:
- Purchase of the central unit and the handsets
- Installation and cabling by a contractor
- Maintenance and hardware failures
- Limited scalability: adding extensions is expensive
The result: a high budget at the start, and little flexibility afterwards.
The cloud switchboard: a predictable subscription
A cloud switchboard works on a per-user subscription, usually monthly. You pay for neither a central unit nor a heavy installation, and you adjust the number of users to your needs. Costs become predictable and proportional to actual use.
What makes the price vary
For a cloud switchboard, the budget depends mainly on:
- The number of users (agents, sales people, supervisors)
- The numbers: local Moroccan numbers, European numbers for offshore work, porting
- The functions enabled: IVR, queues, call recording, supervision
- The volume of outbound calls and the destinations
Estimating your budget in 4 questions
- How many people will use the phone system?
- Which numbers do you need (Morocco, Europe, international)?
- Do you need call centre functions (routing, supervision)?
- Are your calls mostly inbound or outbound?
With those four answers, a reliable and personalised estimate is straightforward.
The real calculation: switchboard + CRM
A switchboard on its own is compared on price. A switchboard coupled to the CRM is compared on return: less double entry, no lost calls, and a customer history that actually exists. See also the cloud PBX.

Frequently asked questions
Does a cloud switchboard cost less than a PBX?
Over the whole life cycle, usually yes: there is no central unit to buy, no cabling, no on-site maintenance and no replacement at end of life. Against a recent, fully depreciated PBX on a single site, the answer can be no — the comparison only means something in total cost.
Are there installation fees?
There is no heavy installation, since there is no central unit. Any setup fees depend on your configuration and appear on your quote.
Does the price depend on the number of users?
Yes. Billing is per seat — a seat being one agent connected at the same time — with a degressive unit price as the floor grows. The minimum is 5 seats; see the pricing page.
How do we get an exact price for our business?
Send us four details: number of seats, countries involved, the CRM already in place and your estimated call volume. That is enough for a costed proposal without a preliminary meeting.
